Fintech firm eComm bringing 30 new jobs to Navan

27 Sep 2016

Fintech company Prepaid Financial Services (PFS) is growing its Navan operation, with 30 new jobs coming to Co Meath as part of an international expansion plan.

The UK, Ireland and Malta are the focal points of PFS’s latest investment, although Navan will enjoy the majority of the 52 new jobs announced by the company.

30 positions will be created at the company’s Irish offices, eComm Merchant Solutions, in Navan. Founder and CEO of PFS, Noel Moran, hopes that this area will in future become a fintech hub.

PFS

PFS saw 60pc growth in 2015, with recent contract wins by the company requiring a larger workforce to satisfy.

“We have been incredibly successful across the EU and now have our sights set on global expansion,” said Moran.

Moran claims he chose to establish eComm in his hometown of Navan due to access to talent, with his company’s current staff in line for new roles as part of the expansion.

“The revenue generated by programmes across Europe has allowed us to invest in creating new jobs in the fintech industry,” he said.

“And, as we fill positions internally wherever possible, this will also result in exciting career development opportunities opening up to our existing employees at both eComm and PFS.”

The roles created have yet to be named, though a six-month target has been set to bring the talent into the company.

Yesterday, 140 tech roles were created in Ireland through two companies. WP Engine, a managed services platform for premium WordPress websites, is to create 100 jobs in a new Limerick centre.

The office, which will take three years to fill, will expand what is the WordPress community’s largest R&D organisation, with the Irish team working with a similar team in the US to accelerate WP Engine’s managed WordPress platform.

Meanwhile Fort Wayne Metals, a company that develops wiring and components for medical devices, has announced it is to expand its production facility in Castlebar, Co Mayo, with the creation of 40 jobs.
