Liberty Mutual Insurance Group is to create 150 new technology jobs in Blanchardstown, Dublin, over the next two years.
The investment, supported by IDA Ireland, will see an expansion of the company’s IT operations, which currently employ more than 350 people in Belfast.
The 150 new jobs will bring the total Liberty Mutual Insurance Group workforce in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland to more than 1,500 employees.
The company’s IT operations in Belfast specialise in enterprise-level software engineering support for Liberty Mutual Insurance Group worldwide. The expanded IT operations in Dublin will support the establishment of an IT help desk, a security operations centre and a software engineering unit.
Global tech hub for financial services
“Today’s announcement that Liberty, a world-leading company in this area, is establishing a new global operation in Dublin with the creation of 150 technology jobs is a further boost for the sector and for the economy,” the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, TD, said today.
“Great credit is owed to IDA for their work on this project. I am determined that with hard work from Government we can see further announcements like this in the coming months,” Bruton said.
IDA Ireland chief executive Barry O’Leary said Liberty Mutual Insurance will grow its Irish team by adding highly skilled staff who will support the company’s workforce across the globe.
“In recent years, Ireland has become a hub for international insurance companies to establish global IT operations here,” O’Leary said.
