Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, TD, today launched the next Career Zoo event, coming to the Convention Centre Dublin on Saturday, 9 February. More than 3,500 high-quality jobs and long-term career opportunities are expected to be on offer at the event from both multinational and indigenous employers.
Career Zoo is Ireland’s biggest careers event and more than 100 companies and organisations from a variety of sectors will set up shop in the CCD in order to meet with potential candidates. More than 9,000 visitors attended the last Career Zoo in September 2012, and the same number is anticipated for the upcoming February event.
Abbott, Accenture, Amazon, AOL, Aon, eBay, Ericsson, Fidelity, Hays, IT Alliance, Johnson & Johnson, Openet, PayPal, Sentenial, SIG, State Street, Unum, Workday and more are already known to be actively recruiting at the event, and full-time jobs will be available in IT, engineering, pharmaceutical and biomedical, finance and accounting, sales, HR, marketing, management and more, including multilingual roles.
“The Government’s plan for jobs and growth is focused on rebuilding an economy based on enterprise, exports and innovation. As this event shows, innovative Irish and international companies are now creating large numbers of jobs in the sectors which we have targeted, including ICT, life sciences and financial services,” said Bruton. “Part of the challenge is to ensure that we develop the training mechanisms to ensure that we can fill the vacancies that are being created, and the Action Plan for Jobs 2013 will contain a number of measures targeted at this goal.”
Career Zoo also showcases courses and upskilling opportunities, and workshops with advice from experts will be part of the day’s agenda.
Once again, there will be a strong focus on the tech sector, particularly opportunities in cloud computing, and event sponsors IT’s Happening Here will also be promoting roles available in the Irish software sector.
The Tech Box will return, giving attendees a space to learn about Ireland’s fast-growing IT sector with career workshops and a career clinic.
