Monsoon, an e-commerce company specialising in Drupal and Magento technology, is expanding its Irish workforce and opening up a new London office as growth soars.
40 new jobs are coming on stream over the next 18 months at Monsoon’s Irish operation, at a time when international expansion is picking up, too.
Design, creative and user experience roles will be created, with recruitment for technology and development positions to be filled “immediately”. The new roles will double the company’s current workforce.
The company is also opening a London office, with Paul Kelson named as UK country manager. It will be responsible for both UK and international growth, and a team of five e-commerce experts are already in place to build the business.
Now 10 years old, Monsoon was founded by CEO Bharat Sharma and CMO Stephen Kenealy, with the past three years seeing triple-digit growth for the company.
The agency specialises in Magento and Drupal technology platforms, claiming that Magento powers over 30pc of all e-commerce transactions globally ($50bn worth of transactions in 2015).
“The time is absolutely right to expand,” said Sharma.
“In Ireland, our growth has surpassed our expectations as more and more businesses come to us looking for great-looking, easy-to-use e-commerce platforms that will help them generate new revenue streams.
“We’ve been looking at the UK market for some time and believe that – quite apart from our market leading e-commerce expertise – our distinctive brand of ‘Agile Working’, which creates a more collaborative relationship between client and consultancy, will make us a standout.
“Our new business pipeline is strong and we expect to be announcing a series of key wins in the next while,” Sharma added.
