Dublin-based video games company PopCap Games is looking for people to take on the roles of the stars of its multiplatform game Plants vs. Zombies by taking to the streets at a series of public events throughout the year.
The two positions of ‘sunflower’ and ‘zombie’ are among the many open positions at the company. The job descriptions involve “bringing the undead to life and sunshine to the masses by playing the beloved game characters in real-life”.
Plants vs. Zombies has won Golden Joystick awards and had two BAFTA nominations and is the fastest selling iPhone/iPod strategy game of all time, selling 300,000 copies in the first nine days it was available on the App store.
“When it came to casting the Plants vs. Zombies characters, we decided that rather than stick to a traditional promotional agency route, it would make sense for us to cast the net wider and go anywhere and everywhere to make sure we get the right cultural fit. It is a fun opportunity for the right individuals to showcase their acting talents, create some buzz and most of all, have fun!” said Cathy Orr, PopCap’s senior director of international PR.
PopCap Dublin is also recruiting for a number of other games jobs including a Java engineer, three C++ engineers, an iOS producer, a game designer, a social localisation project manager, a web/graphic designer, a security intern and a German social support.
