Sigmar Recruitment is planning a major drive to up its staff count, adding 150 to its currently 120-strong team by the end of 2018.
Looking to hire in Cork, Galway, and Kerry, as well as at its Dublin base, Sigmar Recruitment will fill the first 50 of the 150 total jobs by the end of this year, with an additional 50 each year until 2018.
Demand from US-owned MNCs has forced Sigmar’s hand, with Ireland a hub for companies now seeking expansion globally.
Sigmar said the roles would be in sales, digital marketing and recruitment, with graduates as well as experienced professionals on the menu.
“This investment is a high-value play to help some of the fastest growing companies in the world find the best talent in the world from here in Ireland – something we are immensely proud of,” said Sigmar Recruitment’s chief commercial officer, Robert Mac Giolla Phádraig.
Jobs in Ireland
When recruiters are driving up staff numbers, you know jobs in Ireland are starting to spiral. Last November, rival recruiter CPL announced 160 jobs for Ireland over 2016-17,
At the time, CPL’s chief executive, Anne Heraty, noted a huge demand in the field, with Ireland taking 80pc of the 200 jobs announced worldwide by the company.
“There’s been a strong uplift in business, which is why we are hiring so many people,” she said. “We work with both Irish and international companies, many of which are expanding, both in Ireland and abroad.”
Sigmar’s announcement this morning complements other jobs news in Cork today, with Compliance & Risks revealing it will be adding 50 new jobs to its workforce over the next three years.
The majority of these jobs will be based at its Cork HQ, across the areas of research, software development, client support, sales and account management.
