Software firm SL Controls has revealed plans to hire 40 new people across its four Irish offices, bringing staff numbers to 104.
With offices in Dublin, Sligo, Galway and Limerick, software engineering firm SL Controls has announced a major jobs expansion following increased demand for its services to aid in the clampdown on counterfeit drugs.
According to The Irish Times, the company will be looking to hire 40 staff members within 18 months, bringing its total numbers to 104, having grown by 30pc last year.
Announcing that recruitment is already underway, SL Controls is seeking to hire specialist engineers in the areas of validation, control systems, quality and computer science.
These roles will allow the company to expand its capabilities in the serialisation, automation and validation of equipment data business throughout its operations in other UK offices.
Leading this latest expansion is the international push to reduce counterfeit medication, as well as SL Controls’ ability to secure deals with some of these global players.
Allow international expansion
Keith Moran, managing director of SL Controls, said: “Our business has doubled in size over the last few years, so these new full-time jobs will allow us to expand our regional offices with more specialist software engineers based directly in these areas.
“This significant boost to our workforce will allow us to grow further into Europe, the US and other markets, as well as continue to support our existing clients.”
Moran also commented on the fact that it sees a great future for its business within the area of medication serialisation for increased transparency and tracking, from producer to consumer.
“The serialisation side of our business is one of our … units that is rapidly expanding due to the regulation deadlines that are looming across Europe and the US,” Moran said.
“It is boosting our business outside of Ireland, which is, in part, why we require the new staff.”
Speaking to Siliconrepublic.com last year, SL Controls’ co-founder and CTO, Shane Loughlin, said: “We will be focusing heavily on creating and commercialising many of our knowledge assets.
“The Office 365 platform, with a particular focus on Office Mix and Skype for Business Broadcast, will be key enablers for the provision of these services on a global basis.”
