US advertising technology company SpotX is bringing 20 new jobs to Belfast, with the establishment of a software engineering development centre.
SpotX, which provides a video inventory management platform, is making the move to Northern Ireland in an expansion bid. As the company’s clients become more global, so too must its offering.
“This new centre forms part of a strategy to scale our development operation in order to address a wider customer base in the US, Europe and Asia,” said co-founder, COO and CFO of SpotX, Steve Swoboda.
“We considered a number of locations for our development centre, but chose to locate our European software engineering team in Belfast because of Northern Ireland’s expanding technology sector and the calibre of talented engineers.”
The remainder of the 20 jobs – 10 are already in place – will be filled over the next two years.
The creation of the jobs was supported by Invest Northern Ireland to the tune of £110,000. Speaking about the announcement, Invest NI’s director of international investing, Bill Montgomery, called it “another vote of confidence for our growing IT sector”.
“These 20 jobs will contribute over £653,000 in salaries annually to the economy and offer excellent employment opportunities for graduates and experienced software engineers,” said Montgomery.
SpotX was founded in Colorado in 2007. With offices in New York, San Francisco, London, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Sweden, Singapore, Sydney, and now Belfast, the company processes more than 7bn video ad decisions daily.
