Limerick was a natural choice for major US sports data company.
Chicago-headquartered sports data intelligence player STATS is to create 100 new jobs at its new EMEA headquarters in Limerick.
The new headquarters will be headed up by sports tech pioneer Gráinne Barry, founder of SportsTech Ireland.

Coined the ‘City of Sport’ by proponents of sports tech opportunities for the city, choosing Limerick lets STATS tap into the best the progressive city has to offer – from collaborative education partnerships with the three local institutions to the ever-expanding technology and science clusters that are transforming the city.
The investment is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.
As the headquarters of EMEA operations, Limerick will serve as a hub for all aspects of STATS’ business to deliver live sports data and intelligence solutions to the 800 teams, leagues, brands, technology and media partners.

STATS will set up a temporary office in Limerick as they look for a permanent location. Upon opening of a permanent office, STATS will build its presence in Limerick to 30 full-time employees by the end of 2018, with 100 more part-time staff members, making it the largest sports technology company in Ireland.
