The 10,000 people expected to attend Career Zoo in Dublin in a couple of weeks may find technology and engineering jobs at the forefront of the event for professionals and graduates who are seeking career opportunities in Ireland.
“We’re really excited that so many indigenous and multinational technology firms are coming to Career Zoo to recruit Ireland’s top technology and engineering professionals,” said Brian Ó hOisín, director of Career Zoo.
“There has been a huge shift in the jobs market over the past few years, but technology positions in Ireland are definitely on the rise.”
Orla Moran, general manager of IrishJobs.ie, a sponsor of Career Zoo, agrees.
“The number of roles advertised online in the areas of ICT, med tech, pharmaceutical and financial services sectors are all on the up in the second half of the year and the number of engineering roles have grown by over 20pc in the last quarter alone,” Moran said.
One company that will be at Career Zoo and on the lookout for new engineering staff is Amazon Data Services Ireland. The firm will be recruiting engineers to work in systems, support, security, networks, data centres, and software development. Jobs for IT graduates and operations managers, program managers, technical managers, and technical account managers will also be on offer.
Another sponsor of Career Zoo is Pramerica, a subsidiary of US-based Prudential Financial Inc. Donegal-based Pramerica will be seeking qualified candidates for more than 20 job opportunities.
Caroline Faulkner, senior managing director and CIO of Pramerica, elaborates on the roles the company has available.
“Data analysts, .NET developers, Congos developers, software testers who speak Japanese, Java developers, financial analysts, actuarial graduates, groupware/Lotus Notes operations analysts and more,” Faulkner said.
Career Zoo will also play host to workshops, a Research Hub, a Career Clinic, and tech-based activities in the Tech Box.
Career Zoo takes place on 14 September in the Convention Centre Dublin, from 10am-5pm. Anyone interested in attending is asked to register first. Admission to the event is free!
