An enterprising web design and development company based in Meath is to create 26 new jobs across Ireland as part of its expansion plan. Recruitment commences immediately.
Headquartered in Trim, Silkweb Design provides web design, web development, .ie domains, SEO, hosting and IT support for businesses. In 2007, the company was the first business worldwide to receive ISO 9001-200 accreditation in domain name registration and hosting. The company has regional offices in New York and London.
The sales positions are the first phase of a recruitment drive by the company, a second phase planned for early 2011 and managing director Conor Dalgarno is confident there are huge opportunities going forward.
Equipped for the internet economy
“With the phenomenal increase in online sales, it is now of critical importance that all businesses are fully equipped to deal in the marketplace,” Dalgarno said.
“Ireland is currently facing the most challenging economic circumstances in living memory and businesses need every available opportunity to increase their exposure to their potential market.
“As internet usage grows, customers are now researching companies and shopping online.
“It is now generally accepted that every business needs an effective website; whether this be a one-page site with company contact details, information about the company and a contact form or a full-blown e-commerce site enabling your customers to purchase your products or services online.
“A professional-looking, well designed site that works effectively and can be found when ‘Googled’ can make the difference between getting the customer or not.
“The biggest oversight a business can make is to not utilise the power of the internet,” Dalgarno said.
