Printing specialist Irish Business Systems (IBS), owned by Xerox, is to create 90 jobs in Ireland as it expands its operations.
Jerry Carey, managing director of IBS, said they will be opening a call centre in Cork and establishing an office in Dublin to deal with accounts and payment, 98FM reported. Most of the jobs, as a result, will be located in Dublin and Cork.
Fifty new roles in engineering, technical support, and sales and marketing will be created immediately, and the remaining 40 jobs will be filled in the next year to 18 months.
Nearly 300 people work at the company in seven locations throughout the island of Ireland.
IBS-Xerox (Ireland), operating in a sector estimated to be worth about €150m per year, is aiming to increase its market share by 5pc over the next two years.
Carey referred to how future growth will consider developments in the workplace, where ‘bring your own device’ to work is becoming mainstream in business.
“With increasing numbers of employees printing from mobile devices such as tablets, iPads and smartphones, organisations are vulnerable to hackers and malware. We’re developing innovative solutions for our customers which provide greater systems security in an ‘always on’ world,” Carey said.
Carey added the company is experiencing demand from its large corporate clients, as well as growth in the number of SMEs investing in new print equipment.
“Both are very positive signs that confidence is returning to the business sector,” Carey said.
