Multinational technology firm Avaya plans to create 75 jobs in Galway with the expansion of its Mervue base, the company announced today.
The company has already started recruiting for the positions in engineering, finance, IT and administrative support. It expects to have the 75 roles filled by the end of this year.
The firm is set to launch its Customer Experience Centre in Mervue later this morning.
The company provides unified communications, contact centres, data solutions and related services directly and through its channel partners to leading businesses and organisations across the globe.
Ayaya currently employs 20,000 worldwide, with 275 of these in Galway and at its Dublin base in Sandyford.

The centre was officially opened today with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Avaya’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) president Michael Bayer and Barry O’Leary, chief executive officer (CEO) of IDA Ireland, a key proponent for Avaya’s expansion in Ireland.
“Our Galway Customer Experience Centre is a unique showcase facility in which customers can see our collaboration solutions in action and in an environment that has been customised to reflect their own business use cases and challenges. At the facility, customers can work with our staff engineers to see how their environment can migrate smoothly into those solutions and how they can benefit and reinvigorate their business,” said Michael Bayer, president, Avaya EMEA.

We are currently recruiting new employees as quickly as possible to help Avaya as it further expands throughout Europe,” Bayer added.
