Career Zoo 10 to focus on fintech, women in tech and big data

12 Aug 2015

Dublin’s Convention Centre will once more play host to Career Zoo, with the tech recruitment event setting up shop on 12 September for its 10th event since launching in 2011.

New additions to the line-up for Career Zoo 10 include an emphasis on opportunities in fintech and big data, a focus on women in tech, and a start-ups area.

Regular Career Zoo features like Tech Town, BioCluster, the International Financial District and Tech Box will all be making welcome returns, as will coding workshops and the Speaker series.

Announcing details of the event today (12 August), Career Zoo director Brian Ó hOisín remarked on the journey the event has made since its early days.

“During our relatively short history, we have seen considerable changes, not only in terms of the economy, but also in terms of those attending our event,” said Ó hOisín.

“The vast majority of attendees at our events are now already in employment and are looking for new challenges and career progression opportunities. Their skill-set has also changed. They are more experienced and are better prepared for Ireland’s growing digital economy.”

With attendees – and exhibitors – in mind, Career Zoo 10 will also see the return of smart badging technology. This allows companies and candidates to digitally share content, including CVs, company profiles and videos.

Smart badging technology was introduced at Career Zoo’s spring event, and allowed companies to gather, on average, 440 CVs apiece.

Career Zoo 10 will run from 10am to 5pm on 12 September in Dublin’s Convention Centre. For further information, and to register for the events, visit the Career Zoo website.
