Some good news for Cork this morning (25 January) as the data analytics company Fortuity – formerly Avalon Technologies – has announced it is to create 10 jobs at its headquarters to cater to demand.
With its headquarters in the town of Carrigtwohill, Fortuity made the announcement with Minister for Data Protection Dara Murphy TD to an audience of more than 100 business people from across the region.
Along with the minor jobs boost announced today, the company recently rebranded itself to Fortuity with the aim of making way for its expansion in size and services.
Speaking at the briefing, Minister Murphy said: “I am delighted to announce 10 new jobs for Cork – this is another very positive announcement and shows the business opportunities presented by cloud computing and data analytics.
“I am delighted to see such growth in this sector, and to announce the doubling in size of Fortuity, as a result of the strong demand for cloud and data services in the SME market.”
Meanwhile, the company’s founder and MD, Kevin O’Regan, added: “While we work with clients of all sizes and across a range of sectors, this company growth is being fuelled by the adoption of cloud, security and data analytics services by small and medium-sized enterprises.
“There is no longer a perception that these solutions are just for multinationals, but that small and medium-sized businesses can benefit and leverage business opportunities very successfully to punch above their weight in the market.”
