Business intelligence and data analysis has driven Irish IT employment figures up, with overall professional job vacancies up almost a quarter on this time last year, Morgan McKinley’s Irish Employment Monitor suggests.
The monitor also recorded a 31pc increase in job availability since December 2014, underlining the positive start to the year Ireland’s professional jobs market has experienced.
Perhaps most interestingly, though, is that 18pc less professionals out there are looking for jobs, indicating a significant balancing out of the previously lob-sided supply and demand issue.
“It is early in the year but indications are that companies remain confident and optimistic in their hiring outlook, with an increasingly long term view on their hiring plans,” says Bryan Hyland, Morgan McKinley Ireland’s operations director.
“The ICT sector nationally remains buoyant and demand for permanent and contract professionals particularly for developers with experience in programming languages such as Java, .Net and UI. Another area of growth is for professionals with client facing skills which is a result of a greater focus on business expansion and sales in 2015.”
