Health insights firm LetsGetChecked is set to recruit 120 people in the new year at its offices in New York and Dublin.
LetsGetChecked is set to hire 70 people in Dublin and 50 people in New York for its engineering, nursing, customer solutions and technical teams.
With this, the personal health testing company will nearly double its headcount by the end of 2020 and reach a total of 250 staff.
The new roles are being announced just as LetsGetChecked confirms that Troy Cox and Sasha Khursheed Said will be joining its senior ranks. Cox, the former CEO and president of Foundation Medicine, will join the company’s board of directors, while Said will come on board as the new senior vice-president of revenue.
The Dublin roles will be based in the company’s new offices in Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin. The technical roles will span multiple functions, including software engineering, development, design, DevOps, security and compliance.
Peter Foley, CEO and founder of LetsGetChecked, said that the company has “grown rapidly” in the last few years. “We have plans for further expansion to allow for an even more diverse offering of home health tests and clinical services in 2020,” he added.
“These new jobs will help us as we expand internationally and the hires on our engineering team will help us further develop our technology platform to give people more control over their personal health and wellbeing.”
Dr Dominic Rowley, consultant physician and medical director of the company, added: “LetsGetChecked is a necessity within a model that is simply over-stretched. We are in no way taking away from the importance of seeing your doctor, if you are worried, [but] our highly skilled medical team can guide you in the right direction.
“[It] ensures that consumers can access health tests quickly and conveniently empowering people to live longer, happier lives.”
These plans are being supported by a recent Series B funding round in May 2019, which generated $30m. The round was led by Boston-based growth equity firm LTP and included contributions from existing investors such as Qiming Venture Partners USA. Foley noted that this round laid the foundation for a number of “exciting partnerships” that are in the pipeline.
Qiming previously led, in conjunction with Optum Ventures, a 2018 funding round for the company, which raised $12m.
LetsGetChecked provides an at-home health testing platform that connects customers to regulated laboratory testing facilities. Founded in 2014, it now offers tests covering general wellness, sexual health, women’s and men’s health and more. The service is available in both Europe and the US.
