Roscommon-based MyITdepartment.ie to recruit 10 new staff

9 May 2016

In good news for rural Ireland, MyITdepartment.ie has announced it’s to hire 10 new staff for its new facility in Athleague, Co Roscommon.

MyITdepartment.ie is one of the few tech companies to be based outside of the major urban centres of Ireland, having been founded in 2003 as an IT support and tech solutions company.

It has experienced rapid growth since 2011 and has tripled in size over the past four years.

Now, with the move to its new facility in Athleague, the company says that it is looking to recruit 10 new staff over a variety of roles, including technical, engineering, finance, digital marketing and sales.

In particular, new staff will facilitate the rollout of its new offsite disaster recovery solution in the coming months.

With an additional office in Dublin, the company has 200 clients to its name, including Stobart Air and Acelity, as well as ones based in the UK and US.

Speaking at the jobs announcement, the company’s founder and MD, Seamus Quinn, said: “We are delighted to be in a position to offer these high-quality jobs, particularly in rural Ireland.

“We have built up a very successful, growing company in the midlands despite a number of challenges, including a lack of high-speed broadband, which is obviously crucial to our business. We have had to invest significantly in a wireless connection to facilitate business growth and the high-calibre services we offer.

“The new Government should prioritise investment in services outside of Dublin to enable more SMEs to develop and provide high-quality employment.”
