In a $4m investment, Cork tech support company Voxpro is to create 500 new jobs by 2020 at a new US centre of excellence in Athens, Georgia.
Voxpro delivers customer contact solutions on behalf of more than 100 companies and organisations worldwide, including Google, Nest and Travelzoo, in addition to multinational corporations and international blue chip companies.
The news comes just months after Voxpro announced 400 new jobs in Ireland.
The company was founded in Cork by Dan Kiely and his wife Linda more than 20 years ago.
International business now represents more than 80pc of Voxpro’s overall turnover.
The company currently employs more than 1,400 people worldwide.
US is the lynchpin to Voxpro global expansion
“North America is a critical part of our global expansion and we are excited to be a leading Irish company bringing jobs to the US,” said Dan Kiely.
“We’ve had a great welcome from the local community, and we’re delighted to be partnering with Governor Nathan Deal and the Georgia Department of Economic Development on our latest expansion as we continue to scale internationally.
“Voxpro partners with clients that are changing the world. Our success is built on delivering beautiful customer experience (BCX) and it’s our people and our culture that provide that point of difference.”
Athens is a prominent US university town that will provide a vital stream of talent essential for serving customers, ranging from innovative start-ups to global giants.
“Georgia offers a wealth of resources for an innovative company like Voxpro to grow its business,” said Governor Nathan Deal.
“Georgia’s top-ranked business climate and highly-skilled workforce is critical to attracting international business. We established a strong relationship with Voxpro leadership in Ireland and look forward to the company’s continued investment in Georgia.”
