Apple has added seven new cities to the 3D Flyover tours on its Maps app, making it 148 in total now, including Almeria, Braga and Karlsruhe.
The quality of maps available now online is of a very, very high standard, with Google’s numerous projects in recent weeks including tours of Mount Etna, El Capitan and Loch Ness, to name but a few.
However, Apple’s Flyovers are their own type of cool. Choosing one of the dozens of cities included, you are brought for a birdseye tour of cathedrals, stadia and government buildings all over the world.
We had a look at the seven newly added cities – Spain’s Almeria and Jerez de la Frontera, Braga in Portugal, Kingston upon Hull in England, San Juan in Puerto Rico and both Karlsruhe and Kiel in Germany – to see what’s going on.
While some were great, San Juan and Kingston upon Hull didn’t work for us for some reason.
But that shouldn’t deter curious minds, so we’ve attached some shots of tours around Braga, Karlsruhe, Almeria and Dublin, which has been on the full list for a while now.
