For just 15 minutes tomorrow, Thursday, 25 April, Twitter users are invited to ask Dublin’s Lord Mayor Mr Naoise Ó Muirí anything about the city during a Q&A using the hashtag #AskNaoise.

Questions condensed into 140-character tweets will be collected using the hashtag between 12pm and 12.15pm tomorrow, and the Lord Mayor will be tweeting his answers up until 1pm.

The Twitter-based Q&A is the first in a planned series called ’15-15’ and will be repeated on 15 May and 15 June (indicating that, perhaps, a deadline was missed on this first outing).

The regular #AskNaoise slots are part of the Lord Mayor’s policy of promoting open digital communications in Dublin City alongside the Digital Dublin initiative.

“Communications are changing. Public bodies need to be able to communicate effectively with a digital public,” said the Lord Mayor. “15-15 will give citizens a chance to ask me questions related to my position as Lord Mayor. The real beauty is that Twitter restricts comments to 140 characters so my responses will have to be concise!”
