Toying around with the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha has revealed that RIM’s next operating system will feature integrated image-editing functionality to rival that of apps like Instagram.
The video below, posted on CrackBerry, shows how the BlackBerry 10 developer prototype has been built to allow for extensive image editing, including a number of filters and styles that can be applied to images, much like Instagram.
Though the prototype device doesn’t yet have full functionality, the range of tools for editing and enhancing photographs are included and indicate what’s to come.
Having these functions built into BlackBerry 10 means users won’t have to rely on photo app developers creating BlackBerry 10 versions, which could take some time. New RIM devices are also expected to come with an updated camera, which will be complemented by these image controls.
Video editing is also set to be revamped on the new operating system and, based on previous reveals from the Dev Alpha, BlackBerry 10 is also expected to come with a voice control function similar to Apple’s Siri.
