It has been reported that LG Electronics plans to release an 8.9-inch tablet device in 2011.
The struggling electronics firm, who recently announced poor results from an ailing third financial quarter, plans to launch the 8.9-inch tablet device based around the upcoming version of Google’s Android operating system, according to Reuters.
LG will no doubt be keen to throw its hat in the ring of the fast-growing tablet PC market and hopes to take some business away from companies that currently dominate it – primarily Apple’s iPad.
This could be a make or break release for LG, whose worrisome sales in the smartphone market saw the South Korean electronics company fall to the wayside of its opposition.
