More than half of young people think it’s fine to post a couple of tweets or upload a picture to Facebook during a date.
Tech retailer Currys and PC World commissioned a survey of 1,000 18-35-year-olds in Britain that revealed 20pc of them just can’t stop using their mobile phones, not even during that all-important first date.
The results also indicated that 53pc of 18-35-year-olds surveyed will post status updates, photographs or other social updates during a ‘romantic meal’, whereas 66pc regularly use social media accounts during ‘non-romantic’ meals, and 33pc will repeatedly check Twitter during a meal in a restaurant.
However, 65pc of women and 33pc of men become irritated when their partner is more interested in Facebook than the date. Which just may result in ‘relationship status’ on the social network remaining as ‘single’.
