Twelve-year-old Irish coder and entrepreneur Jordan Casey has proven once again that you can never be too young to run an export business after winning a deal to produce an Android app for Brazilian ad firm Fabrica.

An article about Casey on siliconrepublic.com led to him being invited to the Cannes Lions Festival for Creativity in Communications last June by JWT as a guest panelist. At the same event Twitter CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey was named ‘Media Person of the Year’.

Jordan’s first game, Alien Ball Vs Humans, went on sale on the Apple App Store in February for the iPad and the iPhone, making him one of the youngest iOS developers in the world.

Jordan explained that while at Cannes a representative for Fabrica Brasil asked him would he be interested in doing projects.

He said he was gobsmacked when Fabrica subsequently got in touch and asked him to develop an Android game for them.

That game ‘Save the Day’ will go live on Fabrica’s website on 12 October to mark International Children’s Day in Brazil.

But it doesn’t stop there for Casey. “Everthing’s going great,” he told Siliconrepublic.com. “I will be giving a TEDx speech in India in December and in January I’ll be speaking at the BET education conference in London.”

Despite the globe-trotting, Casey confirms he goes to CoderDojo in Waterford every Saturday.
