A new global partnership with Cisco Jasper will enable Three Ireland to embark on ambitious internet of things (IoT) projects.
The company said it plans to focus on three distinct areas: connected cars, building security and automation, and transport and logistics.

The global deal between Three and Cisco Jasper will enable business customers to launch IoT services in those spaces.
Recent data from ComReg showed that Three has the largest machine-to-machine (M2M) footprint in Ireland, with 48pc market share.
“As Ireland’s leading mobile data network, Three’s partnership with Cisco Jasper will give our business customers an edge in the IoT market for years to come,” said Eoin MacManus, business director at Three.

Global M2M footprint
The partnership is particularly interesting from the point of view of the companies’ respective footprints.
Three has 120m mobile customers on three continents.
Cisco Jasper is the IoT connectivity platform of choice for 7,000 enterprises worldwide.
Around 23 of the world largest car manufacturers are using Cisco Jasper’s Control Center for its connected car initiatives.
