Hugely popular video game Angry Birds has again catapulted into the winner’s circle at the Carphone Warehouse Appy Awards 2012 in London, picking up the prize for Best Game for the second year in a row.
Angry Birds has been downloaded more than 700m times across Apple’s iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows and Nokia’s Symbian.
Other games nominated alongside Angry Birds were GTA III, FIFA 12, Fruit Ninja, and Football Manager.
“Angry Birds shows no signs of running out of steam. Constantly creative, endlessly addictive, it remains unrivalled as the most popular gaming app to date. And looks like it will do for several years to come,” said Dave Masters, online features editor of The Sun and Appys judge.
Sky Sports News won App of the Year.
