Arkadium redesigns classic games for Xbox Games on Windows 8

7 Sep 2012

Windows 8 will be here in less than two months, but to make sure the fancy new operating system and its touchscreen capabilities still comes with some old favourites, Microsoft Studios teamed up with Arkadium to redesign Solitaire, Minesweeper and Mahjong.

Addictive, fun and easy to play, these three games have been a staple of Windows for years now. The new versions of the classic games have been optimised for touch devices and offer customised content and new modes of play.

Arkadium has also developed Taptiles, a new 3D puzzle game for Windows 8, which it hopes will become as popular as the others in the line-up as a go-to casual game for next-generation touch devices.

The three games come as part of Microsoft Studios’ portfolio of Xbox Games on Windows, which will let users play with friends, create and customise personal avatars, track progress on leaderboards and earn Xbox Achievements.
