PopCap Games will launch Bejeweled 3 on December 7, the first true sequel to the franchise in more than six years.
Featuring HD graphics and smoother audio, Bejeweled 3 will feature new gaming modes and will update the four original modes from Bejeweled 2.
Four new secret games, including Ice Storm and Poker, will offer new interpretations of the Bejeweled theme, while Quest mode will feature 11 mini games comprising of 40 quests.
It features Zen, which will let players personalise their experience with ambient sounds. Lightning mode will offer a beat-the-clock way of playing Bejeweled and players can earn up to 65 badges throughout the game.
“The challenge in creating a new version of Bejeweled is to innovate and keep it fresh and exciting without losing touch with the game-play that millions of people love,” said Jason Kapalka, co-founder and chief creative officer at PopCap and co-creator of Bejeweled.
“So we’re very careful when we make changes to the core game, which is why it can take so long!
“We’ve worked hard to make sure Bejeweled 3 retains the classic appeal of the earlier games while bringing a host of exciting new features to the table,” said Kapalka.
Bejeweled 3 will be available on PopCap.com and other major portals on 7 December.
