After flirting with pole position for a mere week, Gran Turismo 5 (GT5) has been pipped at the finish line by its main rival – Call of Duty: Black Ops – for top spot in the UK game charts.
GT5, which was launched only last week, lost its place on top as sales slipped more than 61pc, even though Black Ops sales dropped by a less drastic 6pc also.
Moving in the at No 2 appears to be football game FIFA 11, which has held its ground in the charts since its release this 1 October, while GT5 has slid into fourth spot behind Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.
The No 5 position is occupied by Just Dance 2.
It is estimated that Call of Duty: Black Ops has sold around 5.6 million units on its opening day sales while Gran Turismo 5 shifted an estimated 1.8 million copies in its first two days.
