E3 will feature a first glimpse at the gameplay of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the latest instalment in the long-running action-adventure franchise.
The game’s Twitter page confirmed the news over the weekend, revealing that the footage will premiere on 16 June at a conference hosted by the game’s publisher, Square Enix. The announcement follows a previously-released teaser trailer that featured lots of great-looking action and some plot details, but no actual shots of what the game itself will look like.
Set in a dystopian 2029, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided takes place two years after the ‘Aug Incident’, a day when mechanically augmented citizens all over the world were stripped of control over their minds and bodies, resulting in the deaths of millions of innocents. Following a golden era of augmentations, mechanically augmented humans have been deemed outcasts and removed from the rest of society. You play as Adam Jensen, who was also the protagonist of 2011’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
A release date has yet to be confirmed, but the game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Expect further details to be announced at E3 next week.
