This guide provides a comprehensive list of everything in Irish entertainment. Anything from movies, clubbing, culture, theatre and comedy is covered, so you’ll always find something to do.
The app covers all of Ireland and includes a location-based ‘Here and Now’ service to let you know what’s happening around you.
Not only that, but the app provides full reviews of movies and events in case you haven’t made your mind up about what you want to do with your day.
Angry Birds

You’ve no excuse not to have one of the biggest mobile games on your smartphone. The pigs have taken the Angry Birds‘ eggs and they want revenge. Hurl the birds – each with their own abilities – into the fortified castles of the pigs to take them down.
There are 120 levels with different challenges to take out each construction. Angry Birds Seasons is also available, bringing extra holiday levels to the game, including Christmas, Valentine’s Day and St Patrick’s Day.
Shazam
Platform: iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, Windows Phone 7
Ever hear a song and wanted to know who it was from? With Shazam, all you have to do is hold up your phone towards the song and it will tell you everything you need to know.
It will identify it, help you buy it, show you videos, get you the lyrics and even share it with your friends. Handy! You can also check out your friends’ tagged music so you can add it to your own tagged list.
Coming Soon: RTÉ Player
Platform: iOS, Android
RTÉ Player will be heading to iOS and Android devices, bringing its catch-up TV service to smartphones.
Along with letting you watch RTÉ programmes, the app will contain social media integration, letting you share your favourite shows. The RTÉ Player app will arrive later this year.
Movie Challenge

Are you a movie buff? Then this app is just for you.
Movie Challenge is a movie trivia app, offering tricky true or false questions for categories including actors, horror and comedy. Each category has mini games, including Quotes, Trivia, What Year and Hangman.
You can challenge your friends with its Pass n Play multiplayer and compete to get the best scores on the global leaderboard against the rest of the Movie Challenge community.
Doodle Jump
Platform: iOS, Android, Blackberry,Symbian
This incredibly addictive game lets you control Doodle the Doodler on a journey up a sheet of graph paper, picking up jet packs, avoiding black holes and blasting through bad guys.
It offers eight worlds, including Jungle, Underwater and Halloween, with three secret modes. You can submit your score on Facebook and Twitter and climb up the global leaderboard for bragging rights.
Grab Radio
Platform: iOS, Android, Symbian
Grab Radio lets you listen to radio stations all over the world, including Irish stations.
Along with listening to your favourite stations, you can also ‘grab’ a tune that’s playing through iTunes or the Ovi Store, letting you preview and purchase the track, or the album it’s from. If you don’t want to buy it right away, you can tag a tune that’s playing, which gives you the name of the song, artist and album, and lets you store it.

Instagram transforms your smartphone photos into beautiful images, thanks to its numerous photo filters. You can upload your photos or share them on Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr and Facebook, along with adding location information to them.
You can also find friends using the app and comment on their photos, as well as viewing the most popular photos to give you inspiration.
