The combined sales of both the PlayStation Move and the Kinect could reach 8 million by the end of the year, according to an analyst.
Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan has said he believes that both motion controllers will sell between 20 million and 25 million by the end of next year.
He also said that software sales would only rise marginally, claiming that households would only buy two to three games apiece.
This would make software sales reach 40-75 units with publisher revenues of $1.6bn to $3bn in 2011.
However, he noted the sales were not all attributed to the two controllers and that customers with a Move or Kinect own consoles and would buy other games for them if they did not buy the peripherals.
Microsoft recently announced it sold 2.5 million units and Sony said that it sold 4.1 million Move controllers.
