The hype surrounding the release of Valve’s eagerly anticipated Portal 2 grew this week with reports emerging that the game would feature support for the PlayStation Move. The rumours surfaced after an interview with Valve’s Chet Faliszek on the German version of the official PlayStation blog.
Faliszek seemed to let slip that Portal 2 would work with the PS3 motion control; however Valve was quick to quash the reports with a statement on Thursday.
“There’s a story making the rounds regarding Portal 2 support for PS3 Move. Unfortunately, this quote was ‘lost in translation’ – Portal 2 does not include support for Sony’s motion controller.”
There is some comforting news for PS3 gamers, though, as the new edition of Portal will include Steam Cloud support, which includes cloud saving. The Portal 2 package will also include a download code for a free copy of Portal 2 for the PC. Uniquely, PS3 users will also be able to play with PC users in multiplayer online.
Portal 2 is due for release 21 April on PC, Mac, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
