Albums created from performances on RTÉ Two’s Other Voices will be made available to Deezer users first through an exclusive deal between the streaming platform and the long-running TV series.
Deezer first brought Other Voices to the music-streaming masses in November last year with the launch of Radio Other Voices, a radio channel on the platform offering users free access to selected recordings from the series’ back catalogue.
The pair’s streaming partnership now includes exclusive access to the latest Other Voices albums 28 days before any other service or platform.
The first release arrives on 5 July, when Series 7, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 will be available with live performances from Billy Bragg, Richard Hawley and Mick Flannery. Following that, a new Other Voices release will come to Deezer each month until October, when three volumes from series 11, the latest series, will drop.
Series 11 marks a departure for the live-music series, which has aired on RTÉ Two for about a decade. Traditionally, performances were centred around St James’ Church and other locations around Dingle, Co Kerry, but the latest series saw Other Voices hit the road to include shows in Derry and London.
The deal with Deezer brings these live performances to 10m monthly active users and 4m subscribers on the Deezer network.
