Five young Irish technology companies were awarded for the depth of their innovation and the potential of their businesses at the fifth annual ITLG/Irish Times Innovation Awards in Silicon Valley last night.
Some 20 companies were selected following an extensive review of 100 companies at a series of pitch sessions at DCU and the University of Ulster in October and November.
These 20 firms went on to pitch to a panel of seasoned executives and experts this week in Silicon Valley.
The winning companies for 2012 were:
Radisens Diagnostics for Biotech/Cleantech
OmniMotion Technology for Entertainment and Gaming
Rapt Touch Limited for Hardware/Semiconductor
RepKnight for Mobile/Social Media/Web
DataHug for Software & Services/Cloud
The companies received their awards last night from Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, TD, and former Intel chairman and CEO Craig Barrett.
