Redeem & Get, a start-up helping businesses manage group online offers, has won the ESB Electric Ireland Spark of Genius Award.
The start-up was awarded a business support package worth €40,000 along with an investment of €100,000 from ACT Venture Capital at this year’s Dublin Web Summit.
The support package consists of €5,000 cash, €10,000 of support from Maples, €5,000 of support from KPMG, €5,000 of support from Realex, €5,000 of marketing services from Cawley-Nea, €5,000 of hosting from Digiweb and €10,000 worth of advertising coverage.
Redeem & Get was among five finalists who presented their products live on stage yesterday at the summit.
The start-up offers services for businesses who participate in daily deals from companies such as Groupon and Living Social. It helps businesses manage customer details and group vouchers to prevent overloading their company.
“Redeem & Get is a well-deserved winner of this year’s Spark of Genius Award,” said Paddy Cosgrave, the Dublin Web Summit organiser.
“Winning the competition is a fantastic launch pad for any Irish start-up and we are delighted the winner was announced at the Dublin Web Summit, one of Europe’s biggest tech events,” he said.
The prize will be a huge gain for the start-up. Last year’s winner, Datahug, has gone from strength to strength since winning it and secured a US$1.5m investment in seed funding recently to help grow its business.
