After helping cloud security player Trend Micro ratchet up international revenues from US$65m to US$250m, senior vice-president Anthony O’Mara is taking up a non-executive role with the company which will enable him to pursue interests with a number of technology start-ups in Ireland and the UK.

Since joining Trend Micro 12 years ago, O’Mara has been pivotal in establishing Trend Micro as the pre-eminent cloud security expert in Europe.

Under his tenure, first as European finance director and later as senior VP for the region, he helped to build revenues to US$250m from a base of US$65m when he started.

“The organisation has changed a lot during my time at the helm” says O’Mara.

“We built the operations centre in Ireland which became the strategic backbone of the business, and we grew our European footprint from five sales offices to 26 today.

“The change to cloud-era security was a real turning point for me; we changed our routes to market and cemented the role distribution and channel played for us right across Europe Middle East and Africa. These partnerships and the model we established during this time will be the hallmark of this business well into the future,” O’Mara said.
