Co-working spaces are all the rage in tech now — with a co-working space on a barge now even an option in Dublin’s docklands.
And while working on a barge might seem pretty original, it can hardly beat London’s latest co-working space for originality because, from now until the end of December, if you’re looking for a co-working space in London you will have the option of working in a tree.
Yes, you read that right folks, a tree.
TREExOFFICE is a temporary co-working space built in the canopy of a tree in Hoxton Square in the trendy east-end London borough of Hackney. It can accommodate up to eight people working remotely using the tree’s own Wi-fi and can host small meetings or intimate events.

TREExOFFICE was created by artist Natalie Jeremijenko in collaboration with artists Shuster + Moseley, architects Tate Harmer and briefing architects Gensler. It was commissioned by Artsadmin and Groundwork London as part of the Park Hack project.
All income generated through the office will be invested back into Hoxton Square and the surrounding open spaces, which is quite cool, and it will be available to community groups to rent at weekends free-of-charge.
Rates are actually pretty reasonable and the space can be booked online, so if you’re looking for somewhere to work from in London this summer you could do worse!
