One of the most anticipated movies of the year has just released its final official trailer, with still no sign of Luke Skywalker.
It’s a full two months until Star Wars: The Force Awakens reaches the big screen but the hype surrounding the latest instalment of the George Lucas franchise has been building for years now.
The film is the first big-screen, live-action depiction of Lucas’s universe since Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005) and picks up three decades after the events of the original 1970s/’80s trilogy.
Last December, the ball started rolling with a trailer that, ultimately, caused bemusement as a new Middle-Ages-themed lightsaber appeared.
A follow-up came a few months later with paraphernalia, oh the paraphernalia, flowing ever since. For example, take a look at this new droid, BB-8.
The latest iteration, the last major trailer before the December release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, shows Rey (a scavenger), Finn (a stormtrooper) and Kylo Ren (the bad guy).
However, this trailer is such a tease, again lacking any clear sighting of Mark Hamill, reprising his role as Luke Skywalker.
Here are all three trailers, the most recent sitting at the top:
