There are some words we simply can’t bring ourselves to say in public, or type on screen. Of these you are aware, perhaps. But, did you know Star Wars has its own sordid collection of insults? Well you should have, you lurdo!
You are such a slimy, double-crossing, no-wood swindler. That’s what Lando Calrissian would say to you right now were he here, and were you a slimy, metallic liar perhaps.
I know this because the fine people over at Wallpaperdirect have come up trumps with a wonderful work of art, showcasing the plethora of bizarre, yet wonderful Star Wars insults uttered throughout the franchise’s lifespan.
So, for example, sleemo is Huttese for slimeball, fierfek is Huttese for curse, while shab is Mandalorian for poop.
Big, broad Star Wars audience
Of course there is a scale, you can’t just interchange moderately insulting things like ‘overweight glob of grease’ with ‘E chu ta!’, for C-3PO would really lose his (her? its?) shab.
It makes sense to create your own imaginative line of insults in a movie, as it means you can keep the certificate rating nice and young and attract a bigger audience.
Scroll through the list, you never know, one or two of these insults may stick – also, we think the word is glob, not gob. You will probably spot it too.
