The photo has baffled the internet in the last few days
This photo of an adorable baby in what appeared to be a test tube has gone viral on the internet in the last few days.
Although it looks like this image of the baby has appeared on Reddit in the past, it was the recent post by user bretstar three days ago that caused the image of the cherubic child looking baffled at his test-tube imprisonment to go viral.
But, fear not readers, the child isn’t a victim of some form of baby torture, he is in fact undergoing an x-ray in a machine called a Pigg-O-Stat.
The Pigg-O-Stat is described on its own website as “the world’s top clinically-proven, time-tested and medically-proven paediatric immobiliser”.
It has been around since 1960 and allows kids to be positioned and kept still so they can be x-rayed. It makes sense, we guess, although it doesn’t look like the most comfortable position ever…
Of course, the internet being the internet, the photo has inspired some memes.

When this baby grows up we hope they get a kick out of seeing the furore a photo of them caused on the internet, it’s the least they deserve for seemingly being so well-behaved while in that machine!
