Three Ireland CTO David Hennessy talks us through The Big Upgrade project to merge Three and O2 and upgrade the whole business at the same time.
It’s fitting to see David Hennessy at the helm of the unification of the O2 and Three networks in Ireland. His telco career began at Esat Digifone, when the brand that would become O2 secured a mobile operator licence in 1996. He later found himself at Three UK, becoming the second employee of Three Ireland in 2005.
Now, he finds his career has come “full circle” as he oversees The Big Upgrade project – an investment of €300m from Three to deliver a superfast network of improved nationwide coverage.
