Fidelity Investments is continuing to recruit in Ireland, but has moved its interview and onboarding process online.

Last month, Fidelity Investments announced plans to create 100 new tech roles in Ireland, and the company has started the recruitment process remotely.

We had a video chat with Fidelity Ireland’s head of HR, Conor McDonnell, to find out which skills he’d like to see in interviewees and what new joiners can expect of working life at Fidelity.

The new roles will be across “a spectrum” of areas, McDonnell said, including cyber, DevOps and front-end and full-stack engineering.

Each will have its own set of requirements, which he said could be found on the company’s website. However, there are “common things” that will make candidates stand out from the rest.

“These are the types of skills or traits that we know will be a good fit with our culture and our ethos,” he said.
