Heather Massie channelled the spirit of actress and prolific inventor Hedy Lamarr during a special performance at Inspirefest 2018.
The Inspirefest 2018 crowd basked in the presence of New York actor Heather Massie, who brought her one-woman show centring on actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr to the Bórd Gais Energy Theatre.
The award-winning play, titled Hedy! The Life and Inventions of Hedy Lamarr, is a tour de force solo performance by Massie, taking in the dizzying heights of Lamarr’s fame as well as the dark lows of her downfall.
A prolific inventor, Lamarr, along with composer George Antheil, invented frequency hopping. The technology is a key element of how Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and military satellites work.
Massie’s embodiment of Lamarr was an immersive experience for the audience, some of whom got to participate in what was an effervescent and entertaining show.
