Speaking at Future Human, Slack’s Ali Rayl said the middle-management level of organisations could face the biggest challenges when teams are working remotely.
While many employees are enjoying the benefits of remote working, leaders and particularly those middle management can face struggles when it comes to keeping their teams together in a virtual world.
This was a topic of conversation at a future of work panel at Future Human 2020, featuring Silicon Republic’s Ann O’Dea, HubSpot’s Kieran Flanagan, and Slack’s Ali Rayl.
“It’s the middle-management layer and the line-management layers that are really, really having a hard time with loss of control,” said Rayl, who is VP of customer experience at Slack.
“Where I really want to focus my time is supporting those managers because they’re the ones talking to the vast majority of my department.”
